When Your Heart is Weak

We are still frozen, but Spring is near. I am stirring to life. Hummingbird's Daughter sequel is opening like one of the forsythia buds out there under the ice. The first galley of Mr. Mendoza's paintbrush, my killer graphic novel with Cristopher Cardinale came this week. I have three big anthology appearances happening. Verily, my heart feels weak and old and tired, but there is a stirring of life in spite of my blues. How are things in your house? You all right? Here's a thought for us both:

"Sorrow, accumulating in one's heart, may one fine day burst into flames like a haystack, and everything will burn away in the fire of extraordinary joy."
--Mikhail Prishvin

Still, in this white/gray whispering beauty, we wait....

Hey Luis,
This the quote I have written out by you on a small rectangle of patterned notepaper. The one you drew from a basket of quotes and wrote a note of encouragement to me that I keep here on my desk.

I love that word 'Verily', an old fashioned word we don't hear often.

I noticed today the green tips of tulip leaves inching above the cold ground, and the fine green spears of daffodils on the south side of the house. It's coming my friend.

I tried to open the archves (Feb) to see what I might have missed, but I am getting a failure when I do.

Have always said I wanna go by spontaneous combustion. Poof! Leaving only a cane and shoe behind, a smudge mark and some smoke. Guess this is a preview, eh? Keep fanning those embers; I'll do the same - and all together we'll have a Group Combustion.

Burn, baby, burn!
