Today's Meditation

Rosario in Guatemala, Dec. 2009

Men go abroad to wonder at the height of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars;

and they pass by themselves without wondering.

How come no one ever wonders what happened to the Border Patrol Agents?

Wink, wink! ;)

This has nothing to do with the whole "Today's Meditation", but, Im actually reading your book (Into the Beautiful North) in class at De Anza..well we just finished it. There was a big discussion about how some of my classmates disliked the ending because they felt it was unfinished. like what happened to Yolo and Matt? How many men actually came back? I for a fact liked the ending because you gave us two options. 1 was that Nayeli started with a vision of bringing men back and seeing her dad. That was achieved and the book is done. 2nd you left readers wonder and make up their own ending. Was that what you wanted to achieve for readers? And why did you end it with Atomiko?
