I can't believe I am typing this, but I will be the guest for an hour-long interview with the revered Bill Moyers this weekend. His show, Moyers and Company, airs on public television and my episode is scheduled for Friday, May 4. In Chicago, I believe it is airing Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Please check your local listings.
I had a wonderful time meeting Mr.Moyers and talking about my work and the border. His producers had me send them a lot of personal photos. It was all a bit overwhelming. But I feel so fortunate that he has noticed me and my work and felt it was all something he wanted to share with the world. I am greatly humbled and honored.
You can check local listings and see a brief trailer for the interview here.
I won't be able to bear to watch, but Cindy has it set on the DVR already. Watch it and let me know what you think. I'll come back and talk about it next week.
Book club members have been some of my most enthusiastic and careful readers. I’m thrilled to share my work with you, answer your questions and tell you some of the stories behind the stories. This is our spot, just for us. Here, we can chat: If I’m nearby, I’ll come and visit your club. Otherwise, we can Skype, talk over the phone or email. Sometimes, I’ll send surprises or hold contests.
